COMING SOON (?):
"ROCK POLISHER"
THE
ALL NEW STUDIO ALBUM
from
THE SQUIRRELS
(last
updated 12/17/2004)
As
you may or may not have noticed, The Squirrels pretty
much took 2002 off gig-wise
in order to concentrate on chipping
away at what has been
described by those who have heard it as
"the MOTHER of all Squirrels
albums", ROCK POLISHER (the band
have gotten back to performing
live a bit since it's completion,
and in fact have gone
through yet another line-up shuffle- see
the 'gigdates'
page for a list of upcoming shows). And what an
album it turned out to
be. Yessir, this highly confusing new album
is the BOMB-
co-produced
by long-time guitarist Jimmy Thomas
&
vocalist / ringleader Rob "Capt." Morgan at J.T.'s home studio
(aka "The Vulcan Philosophy
Center"), this thing is a real piece
of work, to say the least.
We're PLEASED AS PUNCH to inform
you all that at this
point, the whole album has been recorded,
mixed,
& mastered and is now pretty much good
to go (we just
need
to finalize some spiffy cover art)!!! And BOY HOWDY, kiddos,
are you guys gonna be
happy once you hear it! This thing is WAY,
WAY, WAY out there- you
long-time fans in particular will be beside
yourselves with joy as
we've finally gotten around to recording
kick-ass studio versions
of several staples from the live show
show that have somehow
escaped the previous albums (EEEEKS!!!).
All the tracks are tight
& thumpin', the mixes are trippy as hell,
& the performances
are all top of the line classic Squirrels. Special
guest stars this time
around include Flamin' Groovies founder
Roy
A.
Loney, Ken Stringfellow
of The Posies
(& The 23 Squirrel Five!),
former Squirrels keyboardist
Bruce
"Guitar" Laven, pop guru /
Secret
Squirrel
Henry Boy,
& legendary heavy metal drummer
Heinous
Mallet.
WOO HOO!!! Watch this space
for further
updates... and remember,
YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!!!!!
NOTE:
At
this point, we have yet to secure a deal with a
trustworthy
indie label to release this thing, although
we
are still looking (just not very hard- lol). Needless to
say,
we would LOVE to hear from any interested parties.
We
may just to try & release this thing ourselves. That
being
said, God KNOWS when we'll have the available
cash
flow needed to pull it off. We could REALLY use
some
help on the $$$ end, since this thing is
something
of a mechanicals nightmare,
to
say the least (lol).
