YIKES!
That's
right-
there is actually
an e-mail "discussion list" for fans
of The Squirrels,
Poplust Magazine, &/or "comedy music" in general!
This new list was founded by Rob "Capt." Morgan of The Squirrels in cahoots
with Ned Raggett, a nice young
Brit (who's
actually a Californian) who operates the Sparks "mael-list"- as well as
lists pertaining to T.Rex,
Oasis, &
Suede! The two "met" when Morgan joined the Sparks list (an event that
eventually led to the gang at Fan
Mael, the Sparks
Tribute CD, the new "The-Not-So-Bright Side Of The Moon" project, &
the eventual resurrection
of the LIVE
UNIT- but that's another story altogether). Turns out Ned was a fan of
The Squirrels from his days
as a college
DJ, & in time a few other Squirrels fans turned up on the Sparks list
as well. Anyhooo, the two eventually
decided to
fire up a new list in a "what the fugg" kind of manner ("hey, if it doesn't
go, we can TURN IT OFF!").
Besides,certain
crazy Canadians keep bringing The Squirrels up on the Sparks list, making
some people
GRUMPY (just
kidding, Larry... sort of)!!! So here we are! And, hey, LET'S TALK!!!!!

So are we! In fact by now, you're probably asking yourself:

Q:
Isn't
an internet list about The Squirrels kind of a RIDICULOUS IDEA?
A:
Yes...
but in case you hadn't noticed, that's kind of their JOB!!!
But seriously, we plan to be a bit looser than that- topics are to range
from the Squirrels
Group to Poplust magazine & its features & contents, as well as
other acts of the much
misunderstood
& criminally overlooked "COMEDY MUSIC GENRE". By that we mean
bands & musicians that incorporate humor into their music in large
doses... people like
Frank Zappa (aka GOD),
The Tubes, Dread Zeppelin, El Vez, The Dickies, Gruppo Sportivo,
Big Daddy, Too Hip For the Room, & on & on... in other words, some
of the most kick-ass
(& underated) musicians in the business ("ALL HAIL BUTT-BOY")!!! That,
& Poplust... & the
(non-existant) new Squirrels CD. And JT's dog Ella. And how about them
Yellow Submarine
Action Figures?
(Not to mention first crack at rare Squirrels items, the occasional contest
& /or 'special
offers'. But watch out- there is a 'list policy'
of sorts, & we WILL intrude if
threads get
TOO ugly or out of hand for long (or if people insist on bringing up Weird
freekin' Al
all the time..... burf!!!) And ask anybody on the mael-list... Ned can
be
MEAN if you
push him too far!!!!
