Well, I gotta say:
I've been a fan since the debut show, and I
gotta say that tonight's
performance was a Squirrely Thing
of Beauty. The house was
PACKED, the sound was impecable,
and the band was in top
form. Maybe you think you've "seen it all"...nah:
you ain't seen NOTHIN' 'til
you've seen the XXX-mas XXX-travaganza in full
force! Day-umn! We're talkin'
a Battle-of-the-All-Star-Angels, iconoclastic
dancers, Baby Cheevers,
costumed revelers, Red Nosed Acoutrement,
and Santa on the drums!
Plus THE shittiest version of 'Feliz Navidad'
ever performed anywhere,
period. Bar none. Q.E.D.
The songs from the upcoming
cd [working title: FUTURE PROOF BY
DESIGN] were jaw-droppingly
executed, the 'standards' were delivered
totally fresher than Granma's
fruitcake (no, not Grampa--the actual CAKE),
and the holiday tunes were
slaughtered with a sweet dollop more of
the Squirrely abandon we've
all come to know and love.
Baby Cheevers was more talkative
than usual--hardly let Santa get a
word in edge-wise (LOL);
Hollis and Kevin held the bottom with a
MOST satisfying prog-thunder;
Jimmy and Joey were the Earl & Scruggs
Mayors of Sun Ra-ville;
Tom waxed subtle-but-oh-so-tasteful in the
bachelor pad background;
and The Capt. hisself was in the BEST
voice I've heard since those
old-skool daze at the Rainbow.
A splendid time WAS guaranteed--and
had--by ALL!
So let's hear it for our
Psychedelic Psaviours this Holiday
Pseason! Long live The Squirrels!!
Rob Morgan &
Company just sofa king ROCK!!!!!!
